Sneak Peek into Pseudo Modern Lifestyle !!!

Envisaging spurt of positive anticipation but swiftly stress takes its toll,
Creeping of subdued emancipation, dawn is no more of sunrays entering the soul,

When calmness of mind is hijacked by diverse technological messengers,
And not so social networking utilities often end up as mental scavengers…

When verbal distance is tailor made to seem far than geographical limitations,
The world is transforming into an arena, driven by needs arising of peers’ imitations…

Where everybody is an involuntary participant of a race without a finish line,
When confronted, defends them by quoting that the pain & efforts put in are thine…

Tangible wealth has become the metrics; sadly intangible wealth (peace, serenity, hope) has no takers,
Unfortunately it would be too late to realize that emotions, feelings have got no makers…

Passion dies a slow death as following it is construed as the grit & guts showcase,
Human aims at transforming them into a tiger of rat race, even though crawling at snail’s pace…

Deep within we realize ourselves as prisoners shackled by demands of modern lifestyle,
Sacrificing the miniscule memoirs & beauty of life, to unravel the mystery of rat race’s extra mile…

The unique journey treaded by everyone is bestowed with customized highs & lows,
Amidst faced with myriad woes, Homo sapiens leave no stone unturned to keep up their vows…

Engrossed in the worldly affair, intellect is stereotyped & inner self is left to perish,
Initiate an attempt to be content as past denies us beautiful moments again to cherish…

Let’s embody the spirit of oneness & humanism to become angels for souls which are depriving,
Curtailing instincts to stop chasing the beauty by price tags & enjoy nature’s free gift of this living…

Arrival of dusk marks the gradual end of another rotation of earth round the sun,
Let’s infuse a bit of “life in life” in daily monotonous run & the day is not far when battle over pseudo self will be someday won…

"A Day in the Life of an Unemployed"

Ever wondered why things sometimes never fall into place even after being backed up by the best of means?
Wondering why the chap next door moves ahead in this rat race even though not well equipped?
Why your friend gets those best of job mails in his inbox amidst creating his job profile in not so MBA styled format?
Why the telephonic call seeking your interest in the job prospect never gets converted into an opportunity?
Why conversing like an orator to a HR person doesn’t win you an offer letter?

Well, I guess you might have read the answers to this questions in numerous HR Forums and Groups which very often blow the same trumpets over and again and we make a fool out of ourselves by breeding on the idea that we are definitely doing something the other way around?

Hmmm…So you might be tickled with the idea that why this guy who deals with numbers creating hoopla about the HR perspective...Well this is for the simple reason that I am UN-employed right now...(Currently employed for looking employment)

Stop right here…This post is not to canvass any referral / send in some job alerts for me!!! (Wicked smile)…Even if you do I would not reward you more than a burger @ McDonalds which is funded by the free coupon I received from a online recharge portal whilst recharging someone else’s mobile…(Miser eh???)

Day starts with a hope to get some divine intervention in the form of HR personnel, who I wish would:
  • Know my physical, monetary and social needs in advance,
  • Provide me with a 5 day working,
  • Give lot more incentives for joining the organization,
  • Doesn’t grill me like a sabziwallah to lower my expectations,
  • Schedules my interview during non peak hours to beat traffic woes…

Did I ask for something extra?? Dish TV ka advt. dekha hai maine…”Thoda aur wish karo” kehte hain Shahrukh Khan saab…

I sometimes wonder if the outgoing facility on telephone of HR people gets barred right after they call me as I never heard from them next time…They better pay up their phone bills or appoint me to take care of the same!!!

I have heard lot of HR people pop the question “Why are you looking for a job change??”
What a stupid question is this??

Sometimes I feel like saying these things:-
  • I want to add up more friends on my Facebook account as I will meet new people in new office.
  • I wanted to taste the coffee from your office vending machine as I read in some serious confessions page that they tasted “AWESOME”!!!…
  • I have heard that you provide samosa and chutney every evening in your office,
  • You equip the new joiners by giving those 5 Rs pens and a notepad…
  • I would be getting a new I card, business card and most importantly a new ZERO “0” balance account as I am ultra poor to have a savings account in private banks these days keeping an AQB of INR 10000…
  • And lastly I get a chance to shake hands with all the girls in the organization on my first day of introduction!!!
Next Question: What is your expectation?
Whatever my expectation is… I surely know that you would take advantage of my situation and the word EXPECT would be read as ACCEPT!!!

The Final Question of telephonic round: How soon can you join...? It sounds like asking a hungry…Would you like to have a simple pizza or a one with extra toppings of jalapeno and pepper…

To all the HR’s please take note: BEGGARS CAN’T BE CHOOSERS”

I am surely not grumpy on not landing on a job as I try to console myself by reiterating the fact that
  • Industry is going through a lean period,
  • I am overqualified,
  • This is not my type of job,
  • It’s my life and I would like to make it large just like MSD,Saif and likes
  • Opportunity would surely knock at my place once more as I have changed my address (Resume)
  •  I don’t want ending up as another chap who after putting in 40 years of his life is still not able to gather 40 odd reasons why he kept clinging to the same job down the line…
Drifting on to a serious side of mine I often end up analyzing few questions which gives me a different view:
  • How many resumes of your friends still lie unattended in your inbox and you least bothered to forward it to some viable opportunity?
  • How many times there had been an opportunity which was not suited for you but you friend could end up with the job…but your procrastination snatched it?
  • How often you had not appreciated and motivated your friend of the qualities they had in them which IF rekindled could let them rediscover themselves?
  • A new idea paves way for new horizons to be discovered…How many of such ideas you had not supported or killed right after initiation of your friends?
  • Thought process and creativity comes out of promoting the efforts not by being jealous…Remember “WE ARE UNIQUE LIKE EVERYONE ELSE”…
  • How many times we have labeled our peer’s efforts by terming them as sheer luck and giving it a blind eye?
  • How you felt ridiculing a 6 or 7 pointer grades of your friends and feeling proud of your 9 pointer even after realizing the hardships they faced and termed it has life’s lessons?
Remember “TIME” is a powerful teacher…Who knows you could also end up on the receiving side of your friends?

Enough being serious about life…So while penning this article I thought of changing the direction of my laptop to attract positive energies (it doesn't matter being superstitious if it rewards you a job) in spite of me being positioned on a seat like a passenger travelling without ticket and suspending their half ass in air…

So folks never ridicule or demoralize your friends…who knows, the idea they conceived could end up in a life changing experience for the mankind…

Off late, I am keeping a tab on all those (4365 and counting) who constantly say, when meeting me in temple, shops or in my home itself that “Don’t worry, God has something very good in his store for you”

Until then, I am back to my job hunting spree and in case any HR comes across this post please don’t get offended it was purely meant for fun and inviting your attention and if you are serious about hiring me (C.A & MBA)…Just shoot an email and I will right there in your office even before my mail reaches your inbox!!!

"Perspective"

For some, chilled water is all they need in scorching heat...For others, even the air conditioner cooling is not enough.

For some, basic course meal is what they need to satisfy their hunger...For others even a four course meal is not enough.

For some, basic necessity is a must...For others, even the luxury is termed as below necessity.

For some, people are the only assets they possess...For others, they are only an option.

For some, a sheath of cloth is sufficient to be protected from chill...For others, even a heater would be not enough.

For some, money is source of livelihood...For others, money is often a scarce resource.

For some, a delicious meal may be not good...For others, it is something which is long cherished.

For some, the world is not enough...For others, a single soul is the world.

For some, rain may be a spoilsport...For others, it is their means of livelihood.

For some, respect is nothing...For others, it is the only thing they have earned.

For some, loyalty is nothing...For others, it is the only virtue they yearn for.

For some, their happiness lies in immovable (property)...For others only their
faith is immovable.

For some, a smile may be just a gesture...For others, it is something that heals the relationship.

For some, care and love may be indebtness...For others, it is the only prized possession.

For some, hard work is often a stroke of luck...For others, it is their inseparable characteristic.

For some, old age may be a burden...For others, it is the bar of experience.

For some, tears are just drops of water...For others, it is the wound of the heart.

For some, these lines may just be a common thought...For me, it is something straight from the heart… :)

"EMU Diaries" - Day 20

Day 20– April 23, 2012

Upcoming one week leave made me get up from bed like an ever refreshed soul. Greed is not restricted only to material possessions after all… Though I got ready for the class but my eyes were stuck onto mobile for any update from our sir about the days off. Anyways, after romancing the mobile for quite some time we broke up and she went into my pocket.

GZB-DEL

Reaching station on time was no big deal as I could achieve this feat at anytime during the day… Practice makes a man perfect… When the train arrived I let the impatient souls get in first as for them the world would end if they didn’t get a seat. Impatience results in disturbed state of mind… Got myself adjusted anyhow on the wooden plank. A little space is all we need on this planet…

180 degree turn in the right – 8/10 people dozing
Another 180 degree turn in the left – 7/10 people dozing

Seemed like they were fed of my analysis. But I was not fed up by the bhajan camp. They were not subject to any appreciation. Selfless service indeed… As i was humming the lovely chants I noticed object of my analysis, where there is a will there is a way… Saw an old lady standing near the door and nobody even offered her a seat, at least respect her age. A blossomed flower would wither away one day, even our youth and beauty is also not forever… She was offered a seat when the station approached… Selfish folks…

Amidst all this inhumanness train arrived and got off thinking that World is like a mirror what you perform, get backs to you…

DEL-GZB

Double delights on a weekday beginning, what else could a person seek for... Firstly we have been given off from coaching classes till Sunday and to top that train arrived almost 20 minutes earlier… We people are so busy in adverse situations that we don’t have the knack of taking unexpected favorable events in a positive manner… Got in and had our lunch. Took a look at the environment in the bogie…

Vacant seats, hung heads and inactive souls. That’s what scorching heat does to the body and soul… With some discussion about telecom giants who were trying to cement their foot hold in customer sphere, got reminded that communication though has increased manifold at a lightening speed but the closeness and relationship have indeed slowed down…

Train arrived at my destination and witnessed a scary mob waiting to get in and crush those who came in between. Sneaked out of the crowd the same way common sense sometimes sneaks out from our thoughts…

With a lovely weekday offs and safeguard by the sun for next few days…Life couldn’t be much better in summers…

"EMU Diaries" - Day 19

Day 19– April 21, 2012

After a drizzle at night along with dusty winds, woke up in a refreshed mood today. Like rain washes away dirt from the leaves and surrounding, even we should try to cleanse our inner self by meditation… Well from today it was my turn to ferry my friend for next few days. Burden reduces when shared…

GZB-DEL

Reached station at nick of time. Train arrived a bit late but departed on time. Got seated and begun my research. Noticed a guy rubbing his nails doing yoga to keep his hair black but the irony was he had most his hair grey in color. Optimism is indeed a prized possession… Meanwhile a guy boarded with boiled chick peas (chana dal) in a packet. Boiled food items are beneficial to heath... But to my dismay I noticed that guy after finishing his breakfast, ran through his hair the oil on his hands. Fuller utilization of resources… Saw a man twirling his moustache. Maintenance of moustache seems a lost affair these days.

Bhajan camp was still going strong on vocal chords. A father was guiding her daughter towards going to a certain place. Guidance is a vital element in all scenarios… A woman was resting her head on her husband shoulders like a small child. Love never fades no matter what the age is… People threw trash through the door which ultimately went in from another door…reminded me of the possible consequences when we satisfy our needs and let those (future generation) behind us suffer…

Train arrived on time and got off with the thought that selfish attitude of ours would at any point affect our near and dear ones also…

DEL-GZB

No hurry to reach the platform as we knew the intention of the railways. Bench was soiled so kept my bag at a distance but when noticed a person, quickly offered him my seat and he obliged by holding my bag in return. Every action has a reaction, whether it is positive or negative…Discussed about eastern side of our country. Nature has lovers everywhere…

Train arrived and got in to be seated comfortably. Noticed a rural old man sporting branded shades. Don’t judge a book by its cover… Slowly they also joined in our conversation. Speak up and let it make a difference… We also conversed with them making them feel comfortable. Shed you inhibition and be yourself…

Train arrived as usual and got off at my place thinking that only because of our fear of unknown and introvert nature, many great thoughts and ideas often go unnoticed…

"EMU Diaries" - Day 18

Day 18– April 20, 2012

No alarm gimmicks, only sound sleep. Loaded my wallet with few grand for depositing my tuition fees.  A loaded wallet and a loaded stomach is what everyone wishes for… I went ahead for the journey, with a cheerful smile on face and no hard feelings to trace…

GZB-DEL

Reached station and got into the bogie and sat down. These days our new friend waits for us at the door. It feels good that someone eagerly waits for you at some point of time without anything in return… Noticed everyone was sleeping around with their head dancing like a pendulum. Bhajan camp was the only one active with chants:-

Shri Ram Jai Ram… Jai… Jai… Ram

A boy in tattered clothes came and sat near the door and felt the breeze on his face, within few seconds he opened a packet of tobacco and poured it in his mouth to keep his mouth busy… The monthly expenditure on tobacco and smoking if calculated would exceed the cost of primary education for a month…

With such calculations in mind, train halted at my destination. Got down thinking Alms would suffice the person for a day or two, but education would help him satisfy himself for the life…

DEL-GZB

Reached platform and saw a friend bringing some juice in a cover. When asked he told it acts as a body coolant. Nature has its own medicinal properties… Amidst our chit-chat, announcement was made and we proceeded towards our designated place to get in… Consistency yet again… Got into the train as usual, to have lunch.

Noticed a boy sitting near window enjoying the breeze, even though his eyes were teary…Got reminded of my childhood days when travelling by train was a priceless feeling. Childhood memories can only be relived not experienced again… there was nothing more to analyze today. Train arrived at my place.

Got down with a thought that broken pencils & rulers were better than broken hearts and promises…

"EMU Diaries" - Day 17

Day 17– April 19, 2012

It had been a treat for my taste buds for past 2 days. Feasting on marriage occasions and coming back home satisfied and a little grumpy to get back early the next morning. Being content is a tough task these days… Got up in the morning with half hearted feeling to go to class, but I let my mind rule over the heart and got ready to hit the floor…

GZB-DEL

Reached the station a bit late, thanks to sumptuous meal last night… Parking owner shared a news article with me about prisoners trying to break through… Those who have been given freedom seldom know the value…Those who don’t make it to the news daily headlines…Got seated in the bogie, noticed empty bogies of the train, double checked if I had boarded the correct train or not. Confusion has its own set of experiences… Sleeping beauties existed everywhere…

Bhajan camp started their rituals. One of the lines goes as follows:-

Ab saunp diya iss jeevan ka, har bhaar tumhare haathon mein…
Sab jeet tumhare haathon mein, aur haar tumhare haathon mein…,

(I have surrendered my life’s each burden on to you, all my victories and all my failures are in your hands my lord)

Surrender brings bliss… A women entered in at one of the station and all eyes were glued onto her, people of all the ages were so mesmerized with her beauty that they didn’t even took a look at the empty seats. One can always differentiate between love and lust… Meanwhile we were subjected to passive smoking…thanks to the train being on time, we, poor souls were spared a life.

Got off at the station thinking, Our body is also a temple…worship it as we worship the lord…

DEL-GZB

Witnessed a sparse crowd on the platform. Seemed as if the passengers took a mass day off today. Proper rest for the body and mind can boost a person’s performance… Noticed an old man with amazing moustache conversing with the refreshment counter owner. Nobody sports a moustache nowadays. Seems masculinity is no more synonyms with moustache…While I was analyzing, suddenly the old man got into a heated argument with a Sardarji who offered him liquor and then they both moved into religion based comments… The Almighty always preached that the supreme is ONE…but seldom did he know that these priceless preaching, one day people would SHUN…

Meanwhile friends commented on a guy who was over flaunting his biceps and his physique. Yoga and aerobics are being overshadowed by gyming and dietary supplements these days… Between all this criticism train arrived and we got in. Had our lunch and suddenly spotted an advertisement, inviting all those who were depressed with problems in life.

Problems act as an immunizer for the mind and body. A person who hasn’t faced problems in his/her life may surely be going on a wrong path… If such touts could solve problems within hours and that too with a guarantee card, then they should surely be referred to solve following problems:-

Indo-Pak issue
Debt restructuring of ailing business
International monetary requirements and above all
Make the world a lovely place to live in…

One should always remember that HE is the one who makes us stronger to face problems and HE is the one who gives us the strength to face problems. When the originator and the destroyer is one, why take refuge in such self made god men…

Train also reached on time, got off at my place with the thought that God helps those who help themselves…

"EMU Diaries" - Day 16

Day 16– April 18, 2012

OK... let’s get back to reality…Enough of living in a fairy world and fantasizing about the future...Its time to fasten my seat belt and get ready for another day of learning. For that I need to get up from my bed and do the routine activities to face the public as a decent human being…The mask which we wear out to the world often becomes the face…

GZB-DEL

Same parking…Same helmet…Same amount tendered… Yet another day climbing the over bridge and looking at the time… Even the stray dogs now seem familiar. Got into the bogie and got seated. Every day in the bogie looks as if, it’s my second home… Paths are the same, only the destination changes… Middle aged ladies boarded, got seated and quickly went into a state of sleep.

Old age uncle was today missing…My eyes looked for him in the bogie but in vain. The value of a person is felt only when he is not there… At one of the interim station my friend got in and asked “Seems like you had done your prayer rituals today?” When asked why, he replied he noticed “Sacred Ash” on my forehead. Thought that these days, worshipping and spirituality is confined to only aged people… All this while bhajan camp was busy in their chanting… Imparting that we may live in this world but we should try to attain the supreme in our inner self…

Amidst all this insights, driver made us realize that its time to get started for the day. Got off and took my steps towards the class thinking that a step a day towards the spiritual journey would lead us to a content inner self…

DEL-GZB

Run baby run…EMU arrived at the platform while we were still on our way…Sprinted like an athlete only to find out that we had missed our train by couple of seconds…Not a big thing, it was indeed the delayed EMU which we thought to be on time… Grapes are sour… Friends were quite sad that we had missed our train by couple of seconds. Human beings dwell so much in lost opportunities that they seldom look out for more in the offering…

Regained by breath and senses…Yeah I am a bit obese (couch potato). We were not the only one who missed, there were other folks also. Refreshment bar owner bore the wrath of people who enquired him again & again about the train. Don’t get attached so much to circumstances or events. Let go… Train arrived as usual 30 min late but we transformed ourselves into a positive state of mind that we treated it to be on time. Adaptability and Compromise are the terms misunderstood these days…

We had our lunch. Plugged our earphone and transcended into a musical world, but to our dismay the cheap mobile handsets haunts us once again with another set of morons endorsing it. Decency is a word missing from the dictionary of some people… We wanted the train to arrive at the station at the earliest as we were in no mood of requesting the morons to lower their mobile volume.

Got off from the train like a flashing light only to get rid of screeching song played. Lived yet another day with the teaching that “Life is not a bed of roses, it’s the thrones which should be experienced to enjoy the beauty of the rose”…
