"EMU Diaries" - Day 1

Hello everyone it’s indeed been a while I took up to writing something which has done justice to the name of my blog and the very purpose of initiating it.

Since my coaching has begun and I need to commute to Delhi for attending them, I chose railways (EMU) as the cheapest option considering the fact that I am unemployed (Left my job to complete C.A) and thus need to tighten my purse strings…So for the coming couple of months I would narrate or showcase the daily events in an EMU throwing light on various aspects of life as decoded by me in my own simple words…in other words… … … … “EMU diaries”

Day 1 – April 1, 2012

GZB-DEL.

Yes it is the first day of the financial year (FY) and also the first day of my coaching and inadvertently All Fools Day. Really it sounded good but after all since it being a Sunday and jumping out of the bed @ 4.15 AM and getting ready to catch the train @5.45 AM really made me think that that to be ahead in this rat race one himself should also be a rat. Coming back, reached the station @5.40 AM and felt a sense of pride that I also can be on time.

Boarded the EMU and was taken aback that there were some poor souls who were going to office… (Thanks to FY end and month end saga). Got a seat comfortable being it a Sunday. Started hymning some religious chants (yeah me an old school) as the train took off…  People started to doze off and made use of the time to cover up the lost sleeping hours. I started looking out for people myriad activities and noticed that as the train daily goes on the same route the same way the life of people also got monotonous there was neither excitement nor any energy to be witnessed on their faces. Slowly, at interim stations people boarded the train and I could see people staring at one another to analyze what the other person are wearing or what they are upto.

Idle passengers peeped into the newspaper of those who had spent massive INR 4 on a news daily and were trying to keep the news to themselves as if the other person is taking a peep into their private sphere…the same manner we people are interested in the happenings of others… even some put on their specs to get a better view discreetly

Amidst all this a priest also came and occupied a seat… the same manner spiritualism creates a space between all the ruckus of life…

Just in between all this my station came and I deboarded the train and also my mind of myriad thoughts

DEL-GZB

The train was usually delayed the same way in which much of our actions towards a better future are delayed… Noticed on the platform a father taking care of his daughters by making sure they got a seat so that they don’t get tired of standing… How many times children are showered by this unconditional love of their parents and yet they disown them? Meanwhile screaming of a woman caught our attention and came to know that she got off at the wrong destination thus synchronizing it with life’s events it could be termed as acting carelessly and then blaming others for our faults…

An old aged man caught my attention with his witty smile witnessing this act and imparted that whatever be the circumstances don’t forget to smile…

With all these life’s subtle happenings I boarded the train to get back home with the connoting that just as people change daily so does their thoughts
