"EMU Diaries" - Day 9

Day 9– April 10, 2012

Got up in a mechanical state of mind where the body does all the work and mind seemed to be sleeping… Well it happens with all those souls who whose living life depends on another non living object (read as train & its timings…) .With all the weapons (calculator, water bottle, helmet etc.) I left my place to fight yet another battle…

Reached station and found train had still not arrived…Everyday is not Sunday… and like other souls standing there like helpless creatures, I saw myself become an enquiry counter and informing about the delay and its whereabouts to people who asked me. Within few minutes train arrived and I was pushed by a passenger so hardly as if the train would depart without halting…Patience is a virtue seldom made use of by people… Train arrived and got seated after a jolt by a passenger.

A grandfather along with his grandson came and got seated nearby, got reminded of my grandfather by looking at the way he was explaining everything to his grandson… Some bonds stay forever and never relinquish…bhajan camp started their routine cause and within few minutes prasad got distributed as it was Tuesday today. Got so engrossed in admiring the grandpa and grandson bond which took me back to my old days that made me forget everything…Memories live on forever…

With reminiscence of my grandfather in my soul, got down and proceeded to my class with his teachings which was forgotten by me a long time back… Love you grandpa…

Reached the station and noticed that like the railway tracks the people waiting at the platform also were now becoming familiar to me… Discussed about some forthcoming movies which were expected to be a hit as per our analysis which was purely based on the masala factor in the film… Watching films which used to be at a nominal charge back in Y2K has indeed become a dearer investment today; thanks to the multiplex culture these days…Advancement in life has often its dire consequences…

Train arrived and got seated comfortably and shared lunch with friends…Well sharing is the real essence of friendship… Train driver seemed to be in a bad mood as he continuously hooted the whistle and maneuvered the train in a racing manner as if he is going to halt only at the end point and leave other passengers stranded. Among all this saw an old man with a nice smile pondering over something in his mind…In these stressful times it’s difficult to sport a smile even though a fake one but a natural, seems to be a tough job…

With my grandpa memories in my senses I got off at my place and noticed a police guy kicking a handicapped person for sleeping near a sign board…Anger often makes its outlet in helpless situations…
